Showers or thundershowers will occur at a several places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva and Southern provinces and in Ampara and Batticaloa districts after 1.00 p.m., today (01), the Department of Meteorology said.
Fairly heavy rainfall above 50 mm are likely at some places in these areas, it stated.
Mainly fair weather conditions are expected in other areas of the Island.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers, the Met. Department added.
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva provinces and in Kurunegala and Anuradhapura districts during the early hours of the morning.
