The report of the Parliamentary Select Committee investigating the release of 323 containers from the Colombo Harbour is expected to be released before December 21, Minister Harshana Nanayakkara has said.

He stated that the report is currently in its final stages of preparation.

Several rumours circulated on social media in recent days claiming that the report of the Parliamentary Select Committee appointed to investigate the release of the 323 containers from the port had gone missing.

Commenting on the matter, the Minister of Justice dismissed the claims as completely false.

He said that the committee had been appointed by the Speaker of Parliament and had recorded statements from 16 witnesses.

The Minister further stressed that all relevant documents were available in Parliament and had been officially recorded.
