The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) is set to launch an island-wide series of constituency-level meetings under its “village-to-village” campaign tomorrow (02), beginning in the Colombo District.
The initiative will be conducted under the guidance of SLPP National Organiser Member of Parliament Namal Rajapaksa, with village-level party branch meetings scheduled to take place five days a week across the country.
The programme was announced by Head of Operations of the SLPP Johnston Fernando during a meeting with the party's constituency organisers in the Colombo District.
Addressing the gathering, Fernando stated that the campaign was intended to raise public awareness about what the party describes as unfulfilled government promises and alleged instances of corruption under the current administration.
He instructed party organisers to draw public attention to several alleged financial irregularities, including the controversial release of 323 containers, the coal tender controversy, the alleged Central Bank hacking incident and the transfer of funds into incorrect accounts.
Fernando also directed organisers to highlight the government's election commitments relating to tax concessions, particularly promises to completely remove taxes on essential commodities, healthcare products and school supplies.
He claimed that these commitments had not been fulfilled by the current administration.
