Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the most parts of the island after 1.00 p.m., today (02), the Department of Meteorology said.
Fairly heavy rainfall above 50 mm are likely at some places in Sabaragamuwa, Central and Northcentral provinces and in Trincomalee and Mullaitivu districts.
Showers may occur in the Western and Southern provinces during the morning too, the Met. Department added.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva provinces and in Kurunegala and Anuradhapura districts during the early hours of the morning.
