A proposal seeking approval to appoint a Parliamentary Select Committee to conduct a comprehensive study into the 1983 Black July tragedy and its impact, and to submit proposals and recommendations to Parliament on promoting national reconciliation and providing relief to those affected, is scheduled to be presented today.
Meanwhile, an adjournment debate on the impact of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East on Sri Lanka, moved by the Government, is scheduled to be held today from 11.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.
However, the no-confidence motion submitted by the Opposition against the Speaker will not be taken up for debate today, as previously scheduled, the Secretary-General's Office of Parliament stated.
