Heavy showers above 75mm expected in several areas tomorrow

The Department of Meteorology has warned that fairly heavy showers above 75 mm are likely at some locations in several parts of the island tomorrow (05).

Accordingly, heavy showers are expected in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, North-Western and Southern Provinces and the Polonnaruwa and Mannar districts.

Meanwhile, showers or thundershowers are expected across most parts of the island after 1.00 p.m.

The general public has been urged to take adequate precautions to minimize possible damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Misty conditions are also expected at some locations in the Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva Provinces during the early hours of the morning.
