The Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development-led initiative on building the “National Single Window for Trade” has gone live today (05), marking a significant milestone in trade facilitation.

As the initial phase, exporters are to be on boarded sector-wise, according to the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development.

Accordingly, the coconut and tea sectors were selected for the first phase, and the first CusDec was created today through the National Single Window for Trade system by private sector businesses selected to take part in the go-live session.

It is expected that once the National Single Window for Trade is further refined based on the go-live findings, the system will be opened to other sectors in the near future, it said.

The Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development further appreciated the dedication and support of all involved in making the National Single Window for Trade a reality, including private sector participants, representatives of chambers, government institutions, and particularly GovTech and Lanka Software Foundation, which supported the digital journey.
