One person died while another six, including 3 children and two women, were wounded after a private bus collided with a three-wheeler in the Wella area in Tangalle, police said.
The driver of the three-wheeler was killed in the accident while 3 children, 2 women and a man who were also traveling in the three-wheeler have been admitted to the Tangalle Hospital with injuries.
Two of them, a child and a woman, who are in critical condition have been transferred to the Matara Hospital for further treatment.
The passengers of the three-wheeler are said to be members of the same family and are from Walahanduwa in Galle.
The driver of the bus, which was traveling from Kataragama to Colombo, has been arrested in connection with the incident while Tangalle Police are conducting investigations.
