Person stabbed to death following personal dispute; suspect arrested

A person was stabbed to death with a sharp object in the Uguressapitiya area of Katugastota last evening (January 6) following a personal dispute, police stated.

 

The victim was assaulted by the suspect following a disagreement which spiralled out of control.

 

The 40 year old injured victim from Kivuldeniya was rushed to the Thiththapajjala hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

 

The suspect accused of committing the murder was arrested and will be presented to the Kandy Magistrate Court today (January 7).

 

The Katugastota police are conducting further inquiries.
