The budget of the TNA-controlled Walikamam East Provincial Council in Jaffna was defeated today (January10) by three votes.
The budget was defeated after nine voted in favour of the budget and 12 voted against it.
A budget vote was taken earlier at the PC but it was considered invalid and was retaken for the first time today.
Seven TNA members and the opposition members voted against the budget.
