Two arrested trying to smuggle hashish to Sri Lanka

Two persons have been arrested near Keelakarai in Tamil Nadu for allegedly trying to smuggle hashish worth over Rs 1 million (INR 500,000) to Sri Lanka.

The contraband was seized after the state’s ‘Q’ branch police stopped the two persons riding a motorcycle with a ‘suspicious’ luggage, Kennady, ‘Q’ branch inspector said.

Interrogation revealed that they planned to smuggle the narcotic to Sri Lanka, he said, adding, they were remanded to custody today, PTI reported.
