Suspects connected to 2008 suicide attack in Anuradhapura remanded

The two suspects connected with the suicide bomb which claimed the life of Major General Janaka Perera and 29 others were further remanded by the Anuradhapura High Court today.

 

The Anuradhapura Chief Magistrate and Additional District Judge, Ruwandhika Marapana heard the case and ordered that the suspects be remanded until May 10.

 

Five persons were arrested in connection with the suicide attack while three suspects were released as there was insufficient evidence against them.

 

The bombing took place in Anuradhapura on October 6, 2008.
