One-way traffic plan on Galle Road

A one-way traffic plan will be implemented from Tuesday (8) for 2 hours (from 7.00am to 9.00am) on Marine Drive, Ramakrishna Road Junction to Kingrose Avenue from Wellawatta towards Kollupitiya in order to minimize the traffic congestion caused by the construction work on Galle Road, police said.

Motorists traveling from Kollupitiya towards Wellawatta are therefore advised to enter the Galle-Colombo road via Kingrose Avenue and continue.

Vehicles will only be allowed to travel from Galle Road towards Marine Drive on the following roads:


Station Road, Kothalawala Avenue, Ramya Road, Nimal Road, Melbourne Avenue, Clifford Road, Castle Road, Meris Road, Ridgeway Road, Charliment Road, Harmers Avenue, Moor Road, 42nd Lane and Ramakrishna Road.

Vehicles will only be allowed to travel from Marine Drive towards Galle Road on the following roads:


Glen Arber Road, Arthur Road, St. Alban’s Place Janaki Lane, Ashoka Gardens, Jaya Road, Milagiri Avenue, Patrick Place, Sagara Road, Kingrose Avenue, St Peter’s Place, Francis Road, Lili Avenue, Vivekananda Road and 36th lane.
