Kuliyapitiya Police have arrested a woman for the possession of several counterfeit currency notes.
Police said 5 fake notes of the Rs 1,000 denomination were found in the possession of the suspect, who was arrested when she attempted to deposit the money at a private bank in Kuliyapitiya.
The 36-year-old woman, a resident of Kuliyapitiya, is to be produced at the Kuliyapitiya Magistrate’s Court.
