A Police Constable (PC) has been arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption on charges of soliciting a bribe of Rs 3,000 from a motorist to refrain from taking legal action over a traffic accident.
The policeman, attached to the Girandurukotte Polcie Station, was arrested near the Girandurukotte bus stand.
The Bribery Commission is conducting further investigations.
