NFF leader and Minister Wimal Weerawansa today stated that Sri Lanka’s Finance Secretary does not figure in the party’s 12 proposals, approved at its National Convention and presented to the government for implementation.
“There is no proposal about P.B. Jayasundera in our 12 proposals,” he said, however adding, that there is a proposal about the path of the country’s economy.
He stated that the National Freedom Front (NFF) believes that if the government is turning towards the path shown by them, “the stone which was an obstacle should automatically get removed.”
“We have not included it as a condition or a proposal,” he told reporters in Colombo.
He stated that the NFF, a constituent party of the ruling UPFA, talks about P.D. Jayasundera only because it is impossible not to when talking about the economy.
“Not because talking about him is are hobby. We have better hobbies. It’s not possible to avoid talking about him when talking about the economy.”
On the talk that P.B. Jayasundera is to be removed from the post of Secretary to the Economic Development Ministry and retained as the Finance Secretary, he stated that it is a “pointless step” while comparing it to a mere “small toffee.”
He stated that the public does not even know that he is also the Secretary to the Ministry of Economic Development and that they do not consider it a “fruitful step” to remove him from a post nobody knows about.
