Police officers looking into information received regarding an abandoned parcel near the 4th Mile Post on the Puttalam-Mannar road today discovered the body of an elderly person at a nearby wooded area.
The deceased has been identified as a 70-year-old resident Athurugiriya.
Puttalam Police are conducting further investigations.
