Fifteen injured in bus crash at Kudagama

At least 15 persons have been wounded and hospitalized after a bus veered off the road and crashed into a mound of earth in the Kudagama area on the Hatton-Nuwara Eliya road this morning.
Police said the accident was caused after the driver was unable to control the vehicle due to the heavy rainfall in the area at the time.
The injured passengers have been admitted to Dik Oya and Kotagala hospitals while several critically wounded persons were transferred to the Navalapitiya Hospital.
A majority of the wounded from the accident, which occurred at around 8.00am today, area said to be women while they are reportedly resident of Kotagala, Dayagama and Thalawakele.
