VIDEO: Mattakkuliya woman shot dead in possible revenge killing

A woman has been shot dead inside a residence in the Samithpura area in Mattakkuliya this morning, in a possible revenge killing over a murder which had taken place in Rawathawatta last night.
Police said a group of unknown gunmen stormed into the house and carried out the shooting today.
Meanwhile it is believed that the shooting is connected to another murder which had occurred last night when a man was hacked to death with a sword in Rawathawatta.
The deceased man, a 43-year-old resident of Smaithpura in Mattakkuliya, died on the spot while his son, who was critically injured in the attack, has been hospitalised.
Police suspect that the woman murdered this morning is the mother of one of the suspects in the attack last night.
