Airman arrested for assaulting two cops

A retired airman was arrested for allegedly assaulting two traffic cops in Urubokka, under the influence of alcohol, a police officer said.
The two officers were reportedly assaulted as they attempted to impose a fine sheet to the airman at Urubokka town, last night. The airman and the pillion rider were not wearing head gears at the time, and were under the influence of liquor, according to the police.
The injured police constables have been rushed to the Urubokka Rural hospital for treatments.
An investigation is underway to nab the pillion rider, who has reportedly fled the area following the incident, the officer added. The arrested suspect was produced before a Judicial Medical Officer (JMO), this morning. He will be produced before the Magistrate, today.
