Foreign Minister of the Republic of Cuba, Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, is scheduled to arrive in the country tomorrow for a two-day official visit, the Sri Lankan External Affairs Ministry said.
Mr Parrilla will arrive on Sunday (7) and hold discussions with President Mahinda Rajapaksa, External Affairs Minister G.L. Peiris before leaving the island on Tuesday (9), a spokesman for the foreign ministry said.
The Sri Lankan government had reportedly extended an invitation to the Cuban foreign minister when Minister Susil Premajayantha, as the President’s Special Envoy, had visited Cuba in February.
The visit comes as Sri Lanka and Cuba celebrate 55 years since the establishing of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
