
An Indian national, who was arrested for illegally staying in Sri Lanka for the past 19 years without valid visa, has been further remanded until October 14 by the Anuradhapura Chief Magistrate Yuresha de Silva.
The magistrate also rejected the suspect’s bail plea while instructing the Anuradhapura Police to submit the documents of the investigations to the Attorney General.
The Indian man had reportedly arrived in Sri Lanka from the province of Kerala in the year 1995 and has been employed at various hotels in Colombo, Vavuniya, Anuradhapura and Paranagaswewa.
