Airport officials have taken measures to detain 5 Chinese nationals at the detention center of the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake, after they reportedly caused a disturbance at the airport.
The five Chinese men had arrived in Sri Lanka on Cathay Pacific flight CX611 at around 11.10pm last night, however when airport officials questioned them on the purpose of their visit and regarding return tickets, they had not responded and caused a disturbance at the airport.
Meanwhile authorities also discovered illegal cigarette cartons upon searching their luggage.
Airport official had decided to deport the airline passengers back to China, however the chief pilot of the flight, on which they had arrived in the island, had refused to accept the men onboard the plane as they had also behaved in an unruly manner during the arrival to Sri Lanka.
