Presidential election or General election? decision on 19 Nov.

Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Management Nimal Siripala de Silva said that the government will exactly announce whether it would call the Presidential election in the beginning of next year, or the General election, on 19 November.
The Minister made the observation during a press conference held in Colombo, this morning.
Minister Silva went on saying that the government is strong enough to defeat any party, in spite of who ever contests as the common candidate from the opposition.
The Minister said that it is still unknown whether the Jathika Hela Urumaya (JHU) would assist the government in the forthcoming elections.
Responding to a query raised by a journalist, Minister Silva said that the verdict whether President Mahinda Rajapaksa has any impediment to be elected for as further term will be announced by the Supreme Court, next Monday.
