Burglar arrested over female undergraduate’s murder

Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the murder of a 24-year-old female university student in Ukuwela, Matale several months back.
The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) took several months to identify the suspect who had murdered the undergraduate while she was asleep with her mother at home, police said.
The arrested suspect is said to be involved in several burglaries and break-ins while he had entered the university student’s home that night with the intention of burglarizing the house.
However, police are conducting further investigations into the murder.
