Two bodies discovered floating in Mahaweli River

The Kandy police have launched an investigation in connection two unidentified bodies found floating in Mahaweli River near the Polgolla dam, this morning.

 

The investigation was launched on details provided by the residents of the area who spotted the two bodies floating on the river, according to the police. 

 

The police believe that the body had been in the water for about 24-hours when it was found near the dam.

 

The bodies have been taken to the Kandy Teaching Hospital for the post-mortem examination.
