Police have confiscated a stock of suspicious communication equipment from a UPFA election propaganda centre at Jubilee Post, Nugegoda. Police Spokesman Ajith Rohana told Ada Derana that the raid was conducted after a tip-off from the public.

MP Ven. Athuraliye Rathana Thero and Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayaka were also present during the raid, Police said. Speaking at the scene Rathana thero said that the stock of communication equipment believed to be worth millions is without an owner. The driver of the lorry that transported the equipment is unaware of its ownership nor where they were to be delivered to, the Thero added.

Mirihana Police are conducting further inquiries.
