Former Deputy Minister and Biyagama PS Chairman released on bail

The Mahara Magistrate, this afternoon, released on bail former Deputy Minister Dulip Wijesekara and the Chairman of the Biyagama Pradeshiya Sabha, who were arrested following an alleged assault incident on the Presidential election day.

Police Spokesperson SSP Ajith Rohana said that the two politicians were arrested by the Kadawatha police, this morning, in connection with the assault incident occurred on 8 January.

One person who sustained minor injures following the incident had been admitted to the hospital, and was later discharged, Ada Derana reporter said.
