Cargo train derails between Hali-Ela and Demodara

Train services on the upcountry line have been temporarily disrupted due to a train derailment between Hali-Ela and Demodara railway stations, the railway control room said.

The cargo train which was heading towards Kandy from Badulla had derailed at around 11.30 am today.

The railway control room said that steps are currently being taken to restore train services along the upcountry line at the earliest.
