Dambulla police bust three in prostitution sting

The Dambulla police have arrested three trishaw drivers for allegedly procuring a 21-year-old woman in prostitution, last evening, the police said.

A police officer said a policeman acting as a decoy was deployed in the raid.

“The raid was carried out on a tip-off. The police inquiries have found the suspects have demanded some Rs.3,000 from a customer. The woman, mother of one, also has been taken into custody,” he added.

The suspects will be produced before the Dambulla Magistrate’s Court, today.
