Four dead inside sewage pit in Rambukkana

A woman had died after falling into a sewage pit at a residence in Parape, Rambukkana while three men, who had attempted to rescue her, also perished after breathing in a toxic gas inside the cesspit.

The incidents had occurred this morning while the bodies of the deceased persons have been placed at the Rambukkana Hospital.  

A spokesman for the hospital said that the bodies will be transferred to the Kegalle Hospital for postmortem examinations.
