Kalutara town and Calido beach to be developed

The Government has taken steps to develop the Kalutara Town and Calido Beach, the Government Information Department said in a statement.

The main objective of this programme is to develop urban facilities, tourism facilities and recreational facilities for the benefit of tourists and pilgrims.

The Cabinet of Ministers approved a joint proposal made by the Ministries of Urban Development and Tourism and Sports to vest about 20 hectares with the Urban Development Authority and the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority to carry out development activities in the Kalutara Town and Calido Beach to develop urban facilities, tourism facilities and recreational facilities for the benefit of tourists and pilgrims.
