Street sweeper stumbles upon grenade and ammunition

A live hand grenade and 20 bullets have been discovered in the roadside at Jaya Mawatha in Pallama, Puttalam.

Police said that a woman sweeping the street found the grenade and ammunition inside a polythene bag. 

The grenade and live ammunition were handed over to the Police Special Task Force (STF) and the Pallama Police Station was informed regarding the discovery. 

Pallama Police has launched an investigation.
