The Tamil National Alliance (TNA), which contests elections as Illankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi (ITAK), has secured an overwhelming victory in the Jaffna District after polling 207,577 votes (69.12%).
ITAK has won 5 seats while the Eelam People’s Democratic Party (EPDP) and United National Party (UNP) won one seat each.
The EPDP received 30,232 (10.07%) votes while the UNP polled 20,025 (6.67%) votes.
