The committees, which were set up to formulate a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Government and the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP), have submitted its final reports to the President, a source close to the SLFP said.
The reports prepared by committees headed by former President Chandrika Kumaratunga and John Seneviratne have been handed over to President Maithripala Sirisena, SLFP’s Acting General Secretary Duminda Dissanayake said.
On August 20, the Central Committee of the SLFP appointed these committees to formulate the MoU in its bid to form a National Government with the ruling party.
Former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga was appointed to chair the six-member committee, while the other committee was headed by former Minister John Seneviratne.
