Gammanpila, Dinesh, Vasu and many MP-elects to remain in opposition

Udaya Gammanpila says that many MP-elects including Wimal Weerawansam, Dinesh Gunawardena, and Vasudeva Nanayakkara have already decided to function in the opposition.
Several other MP-elects of the UPFA will also remain in the opposition, he added.
The MP-elects of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) have been given freedom to choose whether to join the National Government or function in the opposition, the President has said.
The Government has announced that it is ready to form a National Government with the opposition. On August 20, the Central Committee of the SLFP appointed two committees to formulate a MoU in its bid to form the National Government with the ruling party.
