Woman tea plucker hacked to death in Kotakethana

A 48-year-old woman has been hacked to death in Kahawatta, Kotakethana area, the police say.


The woman was found dead at a tea estate in Opatha, Kotakethana this afternoon (28), according to the police.


The remains of the deceased have been deposited at the Kahawatta Base hospital pending a post-mortem.


Kotakethana in Kahawatta is notorious for the violent murders as some 14 women have thus far been brutally killed by a serial killer(s). However, the police have apprehended several suspects in connection with the incidents.
