A new traffic plan is to be introduced to ease congestion along the Parliament Road and the Maharagama Town while rehearsals are set to be carried out on Saturday and Sunday.
Police said that the Parliament Road section from Welikada Junction to Horton Roundabout will be made one-way for traffic from 7.30am to 8.45am every morning.
Rehearsals of the new traffic plan will take place from 10.30am to 11.30am on Saturday (10) and from 7.30am to 8.45am on Sunday (11).
The four lanes allocated for vehicles traveling from Homagama towards Colombo will be reduced to three lanes as one lane will be used for vehicles traveling from Colombo to Homagama, police said.
In addition to this several changes will be made with the implementation of the new traffic plan.
Rehearsals of the new traffic plan in the Maharahama area will take place between 9.00am and 10.00am on Sunday and from 1.00pkm to 8.30pm on Monday (12).
