Wimal praises Russia’s role in confronting ISIS

Parliamentarian Wimal Weerawansa has praised the Russian Government and the Russian Forces over its military invention in destroying the ISIS/ISIL terrorist strongholds in Syria.

Issuing a statement, Weerawansa said, “we are pleased to hear that Russian military invention in Syria is continuing unabatedly destroying the ruthless ISIS/ISIL terrorist strongholds in Syria.

We are also very pleased to hear about the military capabilities and the achievement of the Russian forces who conduct those humanitarian operations with noble objectives in mind.  We are also very pleased to learn about the technological prowess of the Russian forces in using cruise missiles with perfect precision targeting terrorists as far as 1500 km away without causing any deliberate harm to innocent civilians anywhere in the region.

We immensely appreciate the steps taken by the Russian Government through this military intervention that was approved by the world community and conducted in accordance with all internationally accepted principles of law.

The noble objective of this intervention is diametrically opposing the objectives of similar military interventions carried out by the USA and its allies.

The humanitarian objectives of the Russian intervention is to save hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians who have been subject to unexplainable misery and terrorism for decades   and also to pave the way to the Syrian peoples’ lawful government  to rule the country.

We believe that this decisive and giant step would be a huge step forward to establish lasting peace in Syria in particular and in the world in general.

We wish all the courage and strength to Russian Government and the Russian Forces to march forward in achieving the intended noble objectives in the name of the innocent and peace- loving people all over the world.”
