Speaker signs 6 new acts

Speaker Karu Jayasuriya today signed the first 6 amendment bills passed in the 8th Parliament of Sri Lanka. 

Inland Revenue Tax (Amendment) Act, Nation Building Tax (Amendment) Act, Betting and Gaming Levy (Amendment) Act, Economic Service Charge (Amendment) Act, Value Added Tax (Amendment) Act and a financial act were signed by the Speaker, according to his media unit. 

Bills passed in the Parliament come into law after being signed by the Speaker of Parliament. 

These are also the fist acts signed by Jayasuriya after assuming duties as the Speaker.
