A group of opposition MPs are currently displaying posters inside the Parliament in protest over the attack on the Higher National Diplomas in Accountancy (HNDA) students in Colombo, Ada Derana reporter says.
The students, who were blocking the road at Ward Place near the University Grants Commission (UGC), were baton charged, met with tear gas and water cannons as they refused to disperse, last week.
However, Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe has appointed a committee headed by Dr. B. M. S. Batagoda to investigate into the attack. Minister of Law and Order Tilak Marapana will also make a special statement at the Parliament on this regard, today.
