Former Deputy Minister Premalal Jayasekara, who was arrested over an election-related shooting incident in Kahawatta, has been further remanded until November 17 by the Pelmadulla Magistrate’s Court.

 

Three other suspects arrested over the incident and produced before the court today were also ordered further remanded until the aforementioned date by magistrate Dinesh Lakmal. 

 

The UPFA MP, Provincial Councilor Nilantha Jayakody and Kahawatta Pradeshiya Sabha chairman Vajira Darshana were arrested with the shooting incident, which occurred on January 05 morning and resulted in the death of a political supporter who was decorating an election stage of Maithripala Sirisena in Kahawatta.
