Gamini Wijesinghe assumes duties as Auditor General

Mr Gamini Wijesinghe assumed duties as the new Auditor General of Sri Lanka on Friday. 

Wijesinghe is the former Director General of Sri Lanka Accounting and Auditing Standards Monitoring Board (SLAASMB).

He is the 39th Auditor General of Sri Lanka and will be succeeding Mr S. Swarnajothi who was appointed on 3 January 2007. 

The Auditor General through the Auditor General’s Department provides an independent review of the performance and accountability of the public sector institutions and reports to Parliament.
