
The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) issued a special silver uncirculated commemorative coin with a face value of Rs.500 to mark the 150th Anniversary of Colombo Municipal Council in recognition of its service to the country.
The words “COLOMBO MUNICIPAL COUNCIL” in English, Sinhala and Tamil languages appear on the periphery of the coin.
The reverse of the coin depicts the face value “500” in large numerals in the center with the words “Five Hundred Rupees” in Sinhala, Tamil and English languages just below. The words ‘Sri Lanka” in Tamil, Sinhala and English languages appear on the periphery with the year “2015” at the bottom edge of the coin.
A limited number of coins will be available for sale at a fixed price at Colombo Municipal Council, Town Hall, Colombo 7.
