550 prisoners released for Christmas

The Department of Prisons says that around 550 prisoners will be released today in view of Christmas. 

Commissioner General of Prisons Nishan Dhanasinghe said that a group of prisoners serving sentences for minor crimes will be released from prisons across the country with a presidential pardon.
