Sri Lanka Customs says that gold worth over Rs 300 million, illegally brought into the country and attempted to smuggle abroad, were confiscated last year.
The total value of foreign currency confiscated within the year 2015 is estimated to be over Rs 300 million as well, customs spokesman Leslie Gamini said.
He stated that the Department of Customs was able to fulfill all income targets set for the previous year.
