Foreign Minister holds a meeting with Dunya Maumoon

Maldives Minister of Foreign Affairs Dunya Maumoon has held a meeting with  Mangala Samaraweera, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka, this morning (14).

 


During the meeting, held at the Maldives Ministry of Foreign Affairs, discussions between the two Ministers focused on ways of further strengthening and enhancing the strong bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, Maldives Foreign Affairs Ministry said in a statement.

 


“Minister Dunya highlighted the importance of cooperating in the areas of mutual concern for both countries and expressed appreciation to the Government of Sri Lanka, for their continued support to the Maldives. 

 


Minister Samaraweera thanked Minister Dunya for the warm welcome and generous hospitality and reiterated the commitment of the Government of Sri Lanka, to continue to work together with a renewed spirit of cooperation and assist the Maldives in its developmental efforts.

 


Foreign Minister Dunya also hosted an official lunch in honour of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka and Minister of Finance of Sri Lanka, Ravi Karunanayake, this afternoon. Both Ministers are on a two-day official visit to the Maldives,” the statement added.
