Bread price revised again

Bread price revised again

January 15, 2016   07:57 pm

The Bakery Owners’ Association says that the price of a 450g loaf of bread will be reduced by Rs 1 with effect from midnight today (Jan 15), just three days after it was increased by the same amount.

The price of a loaf of bread was increased by Rs.1 from midnight on Tuesday (12).

However, bakery owners had considered reducing the prices again as the government had decided to halt the amendments proposed to Value Added Tax (VAT) and Nation Building Tax (NBT) in the 2016 budget, until the relevant legislative enactments are passed in Parliament.
