Three Indian fishermen arrested in Sri Lankan waters

Sri Lanka Navy says it assisted the Sri Lanka Coast Guard to arrest three Indian fishermen along with a fishing trawler poaching in Sri Lankan waters North-West of Karainagar on Saturday (16). 

 

The arrested fishermen were brought to Kankasanthurai and will be handed over to the officials of the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (Jaffna) for onward action, navy media unit said.

 

Indian media reports say that the three fishermen are from Kottaipattinam in Nagapattiman district, Tamil Nadu.
