
The Government of Sri Lanka has strongly condemned the terrorist attack at the Bacha Khan University in Northwest Pakistan.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by this deplorable terrorist attack. Sri Lanka condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and wishes to reiterate support towards all efforts to combat this scourge,” the Foreign Affairs Ministry said in a statement.
Up to 20 people were killed, including students and a professor, as gunmen attacked a university in northwest Pakistan.
The assault began on Wednesday morning at the Bacha Khan University in Charsadda, about 140km from the capital Islamabad.
Provincial Minister for Health and Information Shaukat Yousafzai added that over 50 people have been injured.
